Overview:

Designing and machining of injection molding tooling using lathe turning, milling machine, and surface grinding. Qualified candidate should be strong in manual machining, blueprint reading capability, geometry, threadforms, and mold design. On the job cross training by apprenticeship.

Primary Duties:

• Design and construction of precision, safe, molding tooling (in aluminum and steel)
• Making tooling and/or special fixturing for manufacturing of customer orders using CAD CAM and conventional machine tools
• Reviewing customer drawings to propose/quote the tooling required for production

Qualifications:

• Manual machining skills
• Understanding blueprints and tolerances

Education Requirements:

• Vocational school, or equivalent on-the-job training

Experience Requirements:

• 1 to 5 years related experience required

Working Hours:

• 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
